Mc Mahon's Shell Grit (Medium Grade)

Mc Mahon's Shell Grit (Medium Grade)

McMahon's Shell Grit Medium Grade is made from crushed shells and is a popular mineral & calcium supplement for poultry and parrots. It also aids bird digestion of other foods like seeds. The medium grade has the ideal-sized shell pieces for poultry and most other medium to large-sized parrots.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. At what age should I start giving my poultry grit?

A. While baby chickens are eating Chick Starter (0 to 7 weeks approx) or Pullet Grower (7 to 19 weeks approx ), they don't need any extra calcium supplementation. It's best to begin calcium supplementation about 2 weeks before they begin laying eggs or when they are being transitioned into a layer feed, which is usually around 16 to 18 weeks of age. The point of lay is usually 18 to 20 weeks of age.
